Across The Universe
Humans: Intelligent apes, sub categories include modahumans, Transhumans, primitive humans, post-humans. 5% of humans live at a high tech level. 60% of humans live at mid tech level, throughout 3 space colonies, 6 planets, 3 lunar bases, and a space station/asteroid system mining colony. 35% of humans live at low tech level, on 3 planets, 2 space colonies, 2 lunar bases and in one flotilla.
Humans are extremely populous in a number of galaxies. Humans living on colony planets often faced technological regression, social regression, and rebuilding phases. In some instances, they were very successful in reestablishing the species, taking their tech to a solar level scale, with local space travel and even some first contacts. In other cases they have remained at a low or even primitive tech level.
The Human United Worlds project helped connect humans throughout the universe. Many humans share similar ethics and biological advances. A few human groups diverged distinctly from the rest so that they are unusual, and remain so culturally. The primarily (90%) female engendered Humans of Madra and Sphere Three, the perfectly engineered space adapted humans of Collective Colony of Niact, and the Amphibious humans of Siroc.
Human Culture is rather popular currently, with human music, arts and technocraft sought after. Human destinations are hot tourist locations. Interestingly, low-tech entertainment has been seeing a groundswell in consumption. Many humans venerate antiquities and ancient arts and sciences as well as species still inhabiting home planets. One solar system is home to a culture of humans that has focused on detailed record-keeping and distribution.
Each Human planet has some cultural differences with the next, however for them most part, humans engage in the more common universal ethics, with the majority at a post-scarcity point. Labor is often socially rewarded. Responsibility to society and personal autonomy are common. Materialism is low to moderate in most human cultures.
The majority of humans have some level of technological enhancements or integrated tools that assist them in inter-connected communication and use of available technologies. Many humans enlist in space travel as young adults.
The average human age progression is 1-25 child, 25-75 young adult, 75 and above adult. Most Humans breed via technology, with only about 20% at the lower tech levels breeding biologically. Societies vary on child rearing with a significant amount of young humans raised with other children and robotic assistance. A smaller amount of humans live in familial or collective groups to raise children and engage in direct social interactions.
